Beyond the Blue’s aim is to prepare & enrich individuals, couples, families and churches to build healthy relationships that last a lifetime.
Beyond The Blue helps individuals and couples through marriage preparation and pastoral counseling. In addition we consult with local churches, offering training in how to run The Pre-Marriage, Marriage & Parenting Courses and The Alpha Film Series.
As a minister with Anglican roots, Derek Rust works closely with individuals and churches from across all denominations to create effective ways to ‘build a bridge of trust that can bear the weight of truth'. Derek is an Alpha USA advisor and an Associate Evangelist of Canon J.John and Philo Trust. He enjoys hosting evangelism workshops and teaching from the Just 10 sermon series. Along with Cathy, his wife and four young adult children, the Rust family have a love for starting new churches and growing communities. Whether it’s online or in-person, we gather, engage and add value to people’s lives.

The Marriage Course has been run in over 127 countries for over 1 million couples and consists of two courses: The Marriage Course and The Pre-Marriage Course.
The Marriage Course and The Pre-Marriage Course act as a bridge between the church and the local community by recognising the need to go beyond the social, as well as physical, walls of the church to help couples with their relationships. The Marriage Course is designed to be easy for churches to run; with episodes that are available to buy and download online, along with training, guides, and journals. The sessions are completely private, with no group work.
